Music composer

Nicolas Cornil started music at a very early age. He first had classical piano tuition at the National Conservatory of music of the Hauts-de-Seine Région.

He has always had a passion for film music and has loved creating music ever since he could play the piano. This explains why he chose to study film music composition at the International Music Academy in Nancy and why he decided to specialize in this particular field. He was then admitted to Lyon’s University Masters degree in Music Applied to Visual Arts and thus continued his studies during a further two years, during which he was able to develop his skills, abilities and knowledge in this area.

He has composed quite a number of very different kinds of film music these past few years and won the « Best original music » prize for a film called « Monsieur Personne » in 2015. He also wrote the music of the film « Mohamed le Prénom », which was shown during the Cannes Festival in 2016, and of a number of animated films currently showing in many international film festivals. Multi-skilled, he can adapt his work and his music to film makers’ needs and to various kinds of projects whatever the style may be. He also composes music for singers, has worked with an electronic music label, plays the keyboard for a contemporary music group and teaches piano in a music school.
